Taking the First Step

Recently Kazrat Kurbanov was applied for BCC. I knew him already several months. He came from Fergana (Uzbekistan) with his family to earn money. He has two small sons who live with him in St. Petersburg. He worked during several months on the reconstruction of St. Michail Lutheran church and was very interested in Christianity. I talked with him many times. He described his experience in believing God. And now he decided to learn more about Christianity. I asked why he decided learn on BCC. He replied: “Each Christian should have possibility to talk about God with other people about his faith. And I need more knowledge about Christianity.” He is not very firm in his faith and he needs help. For this reason he is looking for some church in St. Petersburg where he can find more of his compatriots. Please pray for Kazrat and for his family.

Ministry Roundup: July 2009

In July I visited two Lutheran churches. One of them is in Gatchina, small town not far from St. Petersburg and another is Zelenogorsk. It is suburb of St. Petersburg. In Gatchina I met with Rev. Andrey Tuchkanen. He was very interested about possibilty of organizing language summer camps. They were just wrapping up a childrens’ camp the day that I was visited . It was organized as joint project with one church from Finland. The Children were very happy, singing several Christian songs in the church.

Our next visit was Lutheran church in Zelenogorsk. I had meeting with pastor of the church Rev. Alexander Kudrjavzev. He was very friendly and enthusiastic about cooperating with LHM in the future distribution of the Biblical calendars that we are planning to publish. He was also pleased to help in sharing information about BCC.
