Broadcast on radio

In June Marianna Nikolskaya (radio anchor) had a meeting with a Christian writer Ross_1 Elena Sokolova in Radio Rossiya . Their dialog was broadcasted at the radio station “Russia”. Igor Savich – the head of “Concordia Foundation” – was also present at the meeting.

Elena Sokolova told about her plans for future, shared her Ross_2opinion on bringing up children. They also spoke about moral aspects of children’s behavior at school and parents’ responsibility for their upbringing. Elena Sokolova expressed conviction that conflicts between parents and children quite often happen because parents underestimate their children’s intelligence.

Ross_3Igor Savich mentioned that high maturity and sophistication don’t make modern children kinder and more compassionate. Smart, but unkind person is a problem for society. At the end of the meeting, the sides reached an agreement, that audio versions of Elena Sokolova’s short stories “Mice” and the “Ocean” will be broadcasted during children hour at the “Radio Russya”. Other ways of the writer’s engagement in radio programs are still under negotiation. The project is done with “Concordia Foundation” support.

500 Years of Reformation. Its Meaning for Church and Society

2017 will become 500th anniversary of Reformation. Events which followed the beginning of reformation lead to a new understanding of Christianity IMG_2297and spiritual awakening in some European and North American Countries. Historical significance of the event and the approaching anniversary have motivated us to create a series of radio programs.

Reasons for Reformation existed everywhere, but in Germany those reasons were especially strong, since on one hand, religion in the country was especially moral, and on the other hand, not many nations were so strongly humiliated by Roman Curia (political powerlessness of Germany was very convenient for Pope’s claims).

In that period political entity of Germany was in a state of delicate balance: the country lost its unity, but didn’t become a simple federation of princedoms and free cities. State reform, which could end chaotic situation, had been anticipated for a long time. One of the main questions was about relations between an emperor and princes.

Radio programs were written basing on a book by Husto Gonsales “History of Christianity”.

The project is supported by “Concordia” Foundation. Presenter is Andrey Mayershin, a Christian writer and member of Lutheran church in SPb. The recording is starting. The airing of this series is planning  on March 2016.

Spiritual problems of HIV

Sepetember 1st 2015 yet another radio program about problems of HIV-infectees in Russai was delivered in “Radio Maria”.

“Concordia” Foundation has been supporting “Radio Maria” Programs for several years, sometimes we take part in those programs. “Radio Maria” informs its listeners livevich about the opportunity to do a course “Conversations about Christian Faith”.

Program about HIV was kept up by pastor of ELCI Sergey Nezhdanov and pastor ELC Dmitry Zinchenko. Presenters read an analitical note by Igor Pchelin about situation with HIV infection rate in Russia.

The main idea of the note was that in the past HIV was a problem mainly of marginal groups of population (drug addicts and homosexuals), but now 60 % of infected get HIV through regular heterosexual intercourse. In other words, HIV can come to any house: presumably healthy people, leading mostly ethical life, can even not suspect that they have caught HIV.

After that presenters discussed a recovery and healing problem. They noted that if recovery is only medical term and provided necessary treatment an HIV-infectee can live a long life, then healing is a spiritual term. Pastor Dmitry emphasized that in the original Greek New Testament text “healing” and “salvation” is the same word. And it means recovering the original wholeness of a person (complex healing of spirit, soul and body), the wholeness given by God. In this regard, healing is a supernatural act, which can be done only by God through person’s faith. Pastor Sergey gave two examples from his own life: God healed him of alcohol addiction first, and then of cancer without any medical help.

At the end of the program presenters answered three telephone call from the audience, those who called agreed with the presenters’ point of view. The audience asked to have both doctors and pastors in the next programs about HIV.

Creation Questions. Ethics and Education

In April  a final radio program of a series “Creation Questions. Ethics and Education” took place on the TransWorld Radio. Mikhail Nevolin and Igor Savich took part in the program. That time they discussed education and its connection with Creation problems. It is not a secret that secular humanism is inculcated almost in all primary, secondary and higher education institutions. And one of the basic theories of secular humanism is evolutionary philosophy.teos_last

Fundamentals of evolutionary philosophy are introduce in the 5th grade at school. All  biology textbooks are full of strange heroes, drawn with the only purpose – to convince students that a human is only a developed animal.

Some skull fragment, several teeth and a shin bone of unidentified origin give one more intermeidate member between animals and humans. We can tell one thing for sure: human’s moral characteristics detach him from all animals. And those characteristics couldn’t develop while natural selection because they are absolutely useless for survival in the wild.

A simple example of that: animals don’t have conscience. Some people also don’t have it, but it is a pathology, not the norm. That feeling is absolutely useless, or even harmful in the struggle for survival, and according to the logic, it couldn’t appear in the evolutionary process. The source of conscience is Moral Mose.

All attempts to prove animal origin of human face insurmountable difficulties. Human is too different from all representatives of animals, so they cannot be pun on the same level. As a conclusion, Igor Savich said, that it is necessary to fill school and high school programs with the data of Creation science. It will lay a good foundation for a correct moral education of the younger generation.

Questions of Creation

The regular radio program “Questions of Creation. Ethics and Education” was aired on Transworld Radio. Makhail Nevolin and Igor Savich took part in the program.

That time they spoke about information and its influence on a person and the world InfoSaround. And certainly the conversation lead to the problem of information sources. Information is one of the most important characteristics of the world. If there is lack of information, a person can bear damage in various degrees or even die. The wrong drug labeling or the wrong dosage jeopardize human health. Disinformation on a plane or train ticket will create an obstacle to reach the destination. Malfunction in a traffic controller’s work will become a premise for an accident. Gaps in computer operation system will interfere with the normal work of a user.

Human life goes in a stream of information of different kind. That information surrounds us for the whole life and in all circumstances. Human life from the very beginning is connected with perception, digestion, processing and usage of information. Using the information received from the outside a person is able to produce new piece of information of different degree of complexity.

Nevertheless, the Origin of any information is God, Who has created the whole multiplicity of the information, which we nowadays can see in the world: in the form of animals, plants, microorganisms. Only God can create something really new. So, God is the Creator of the information, and a person is only a creator, and the things he does is only an imitation of what has already been done by God.

Ethics and Evolution Theory

Leaders of the Near to God ministry in St. Petersburg, Russia — Mikhail Nevolin and Sergei Sosedkin—visited Concordia Foundation’s office.TeosS

To God Ministry was started in Russian in 1980. But at that time radio programs were only from abroad and it was in short radio waves. From the beginning there were two goals: evangelical activity and strengthen Christian faith. Many things changed from this time and it is clear that without cooperation with other ministries is impossible to work effectively and succefully.

It had being talked about making a joint radio-program called Christian Ethics and Teaching of Evolution. There is planning  to begin working on it in September of this year. The program will be broadcasted life on Radio-TEOS in St. Petersburg.
